Pitt Ranked Among the Top Schools in Community Service Hours

PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh and its student-athletes ranked ninth overall in Division I and first among Power Five institutions in community service efforts during the 2021-22 school year, as determined by Helper Helper, a volunteer management and tracking platform. Pitt also had five programs ranked in the top 5 in their respective sport, including football which ranked No. 1 across the country.
"Servant leadership is one of the "bridges" of our athletic department and continues to a priority for our coaches, student-athletes and staff," said Pitt Director of Athletics Heather Lyke. "We are committed to helping make a positive impact in the community and could not be more proud of the effort, organization and selflessness exhibited by our student-athletes and staff in the University of Pittsburgh Athletic Department."
Pitt notched the highest ranking of any Power 5 school and led a total of six Atlantic Coast Conference programs in the top 25. Other ACC schools in the top 25 included Miami (10), Wake Forest (12), Clemson (21), Notre Dame (22) and Louisville (23).

Pitt was honored in 2021 with the NCAA Team Works Community Service Competition Award for its efforts in the community.
