PITTSBURGH – Women's soccer's Mya Archibald and football's Kyle Louis have been named Pitt's PNC Achievers of the Week for their standout performances over the past week.
Archibald helped lead the Panthers to a historic victory on Thursday, Oct. 30, as Pitt defeated top-ranked Notre Dame 1-0 at Ambrose Urbanic Field. Off a cross from Margaret Wilde, Archibald headed the ball into the back of the net for the decisive late goal. The win marked the Panthers' first-ever victory over a No. 1-ranked opponent in program history.
Louis paced the Panther defense with 11 tackles, two pass breakups, one quarterback hurry and an interception in Pitt's 35-20 win at Stanford last weekend. With the win, Pitt has now been victorious in each of their last five contests to improve to 7-2 on the year. Louis' interception in the second quarter was the sixth of his career and his second this season. He was the only player in the ACC last week with 11 tackles, one interception and two pass breakups in a game. Louis has totaled 53 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, two interceptions, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble in eight games this season.
