With the series-opener pushed to Saturday due to inclement weather Friday, the two teams will finish out the series Sunday with a doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m. The second game will begin approximately 40 minutes after the conclusion of the first contest.
Pitt took the lead in the first inning and never looked back. Wehler led off with a single to left field, and Tatem Levins singled through the right side. Wehler advanced on a fly out to right field from Ron Washington, Jr. and wisely ran home after Levins broke up a tag at second base in the next at-bat.
With two outs in the second inning, Brock Franks homered to right field, his ninth of the season. Jordan Anderson doubled to left field and raced home on an RBI-single to left field from Wehler.

In the third inning, Washington, Jr. led off with a walk. After Hulett singled through the left side, Jack Anderson singled up the middle to bring home Washington, Jr. The bases were loaded on a walk from Sky Duff, and CJ Funk knocked in Hulett with a single through the left side. Franks picked up his second RBI with a sac fly to right field.
After Duke got on the board with a two-run homer in the fifth inning, Pitt responded with a run of its own in the bottom of the inning. Duff led off with a walk, advanced on a sac bunt from Franks and scored on a single up the middle from Jordan Anderson.
Wehler led off the next inning with a single to centerfield, and Levins followed with a single to right field. With one out, Hulett hit an RBI-single to centerfield.
The biggest inning for the Panthers was the seventh. The bases were loaded with no outs following walks to Duff and Funk and an error from the second baseman on a sac bunt from Franks. With one out, Wehler knocked in Duff and Funk with a double to right center. Consecutive walks from Levins and Washington, Jr. produced another run. Hulett then delivered with a two-run single, and Jack Anderson notched the last run with an RBI-single to centerfield.
