Pitt Drops Home Game 8-4 to Oakland

With Oakland getting a run in the contest's first frame, Pitt took its first lead in the second inning. Bryce Hulett led off with a single to centerfield, and Jack Anderson was hit by a pitch. Both advanced on a sac bunt from Tommy Tavarez. Hulett came home on a sac fly to right field from Brock Franks, and CJ Funk knocked in Anderson with a single to left field.
The Golden Grizzlies tied it up in the third inning on an RBI-fielder's choice.
The Panthers took back the lead in the next inning. With one out, Funk singled through the right side. The bases were loaded after Dom Popa was hit by a pitch and Jeffrey Wehler singled to right center. Funk was able to jog home after Tatem Levins was hit by a pitch.
Pitt's last run came on a leadoff homer to left field in the seventh inning from Ron Washington, Jr., his 12th of the year.

- Jonathan Bautista started and went three innings with two runs, four hits, two walks and three strikeouts.
- The Panthers left on 12 baserunners compared to just five for the Golden Grizzlies.
- Washington, Jr. moved to in program history fourth in total bases (350), tied for fifth in homers (32), seventh in RBI (134), 12th in games started (181) and tied for 14th in hits (204) with Kevan Smith (2004-06).
