PITTSBURGH – The Pitt track and field team gets back to action this weekend down in Durham, NC as they will compete in the Duke Invitational at the Morris Williams Stadium. The Panthers will be one of 40 or more teams competing this weekend at Duke.

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt track and field team gets back to action this weekend down in Durham, NC as they will compete in the Duke Invitational at the Morris Williams Stadium. The Panthers will be one of 40 or more teams competing this weekend at Duke.

- Action begins for the Panthers on Friday at 9:30 am as Ilse Steigenga and Abena Atuobi compete in the shot put.
- Friday action comes to a close around 8:30 pm with the women's 5,000m run as the Panthers will have five runners competing in the late night event.
- Competition will begin Saturday at 10:00 am for the Panthers as Lydia Bottelier and Steigenga compete in the high jump.
- The meet will wrap up around 4:35 pm with the women's 4x400m relay.
- The highlight of the weekend for the Panthers at the highly competitive Florida Relays was the performance by senior Lonzell Feagin in the 400m dash. Feagin put together the best race of his career as he crossed the finish line in second place overall, first amongst collegiate runners, with a personal record time of 46.36 seconds. His time beat his previous PR by over a second and marked the best time in the ACC so far this season in the event. It also marked the fifth best time in program history in the event.
- Fellow senior Ade Jones-Roundtree had a great showing in the 400m dash as well as he crossed the finish line in third place overall with a season-best time of 46.66 seconds.
- The Panthers also had a strong weekend in field events as junior Lydia Bottelier was able to post a season-best high jump clearance of 5'7.25" (1.71m) to secure the second place finish in the talented field. On the men's side, Greg Lauray appeared in his first meet of the season and took home fifth place in the high jump as he cleared a height of 6'11.00" (2.11m).
- Transfer Clement Campbell earned a third place finish in the long jump with a season-best leap that cleared 24'5.00" (7.44m) which marked the sixth best jump in program history. He also earned seventh place in the triple jump with a season-best leap of 44'10.25" (13.67m).
- The Panthers will have a week off before returning to the track in Charlottesville, VA for the Virginia Challenge April 22-23.
