PITTSBURGH – The Pitt softball team is set to host Saint Francis with a new time change of 3 PM Wednesday afternoon at Vartabedian Field.

- Pitt opens a seven game homestand with Saint Francis Wednesday at 3 PM on the ACC Network. The game has been pushed up two hours due to rain in the forecast.

- Senior Yvonne Whaley leads the team in batting with a .304 average, tallying 28 hits, 10 runs and 5 stolen bases. The Houston, Texas, native is batting .455 in her last three games.
- Pitt defeated Robert Morris, 7-2, Wednesday, Mar. 30 in its last home game. Pitt tied a season-best with 12 hits and had four players with two hits on the evening. The team also registered five doubles, the most in a single game since 2018.
- Freshman Kylie Griggs is batting .368 with 7 hits, a double, 3 runs and has a .429 on-base percentage in ACC play.
SCOUTING REPORT
- Saint Francis enters Wednesday with an overall record of 20-12 and an 8-1 NEC conference mark. It is currently 7-8 in road contests.
- The Red Flash are first in the NEC in batting average (.301). They also rank first in slugging percentage (.452), on-base percentage (.377), scoring (4.88) and home runs per game (.84). Mekenzie Saban (#2) leads the team with a .462 BAvg with 48 hits, 11 doubles, 4 homers, 18 RBI, 26 runs and 14 walks.
- It ranks 1st in the NEC and 39th in the nation in ERA (2.49). It is also first in shutouts with six on the season. Rachel Marsden (#24) is 11-6 with a 2.66 ERA, striking out 96 batters in 115.2 innings thrown.
- Saint Francis is 1-1 against common Pitt opponents this year, defeating Akron 6-0 and falling to Penn State 2-1.
