PITTSBURGH – Pitt baseball (20-13, 8-8) fell 18-0 to No. 5 Virginia (27-8, 10-7) Saturday at Charles L. Cost Field.

The Cavaliers secured a lead with two RBI-hits in the first frame of the game. After two runs in the third inning, Virginia pushed the game out of reach with seven runs in the fifth inning.

The rubber match is Sunday at 2 p.m. and slated for an ACC Network broadcast.

NOTES

Logan Evans started and went four innings with seven runs, nine hits, three walks and one strikeout.
Left fielder Josh Overbeek made his first collegiate start.
Duff extended his reached-base streak to 55 games with a walk.
