The Panthers have recorded four ACC series wins over ranked squads in the last two seasons (No. 9 Florida State, No. 7 Georgia Tech and No. 15 Miami last year with both being sweeps over the Yellow Jackets and Hurricanes).
GAME ONE
Pitt had the lead in every single inning by scoring in the first inning in the shutout. Kyle Hess led off with a double to right field and advanced to third base on a wild pitch. Jeffrey Wehler drew a walk and stole second base. Hess scored on an RBI-groundout by Tatem Levins, and Wehler came home safely on heads-up baserunning after a throw to second base with Sky Duff trying to advance to second base.
Ron Washington, Jr. produced the next run in the third inning on a one-out solo homer to left field.

The next Panthers' frame was the highest-scoring of the game with three runs. Bryce Hulett led off with a walk, advanced to second base on a groundout and came home on an RBI-single to centerfield from CJ Funk. After Hess singled to centerfield, a dropped ball by the centerfielder allowed Funk to score from second base.
The final run came in the sixth inning. Washington, Jr. doubled to left field with one out and was knocked in by Jack Anderson on a two-out single to right field.
GAME TWO
Clemson had the lead to start the game with a run in the first inning, but Pitt quickly took the lead for good in the next inning. Hulett led off with a double to left field. Anderson singled through the left side. With one out, Funk walked. Hess then doubled to left center to knock in both Franks and Anderson. Wehler got one more run in with a single through the left side to allow Funk to reach home.
The Panthers produced three more runs in the next frame. With one out, Washington, Jr. doubled down the left field line. Hulett then homered to right field, his fifth of the season. Anderson hit a home run to right field three pitches later for also his fifth of the year and the second time this season with back-to-back homers.
