Pitt Football Hosts 2022 Pro Day

PITTSBURGH - The eyes of the professional football world were on Pitt Pro Day presented by M@C Discount this week.
Quarterback Kenny Pickett, long snapper Cal Adomitis and cornerback Damarri Mathis, each widely considered to be among the top players at their respective positions this year, worked out for coaches, scouts and management from 31 National Football League teams, while 10 other graduated Panthers also tried to impressive the dozens of NFL personnel in attendance.
Also trying to boost their hopes of playing professional football, Pitt was represented by tight end Lucas Krull, defensive linemen Keyshon Camp, wide receivers Taysir Mack, Melquise Stovall and Tre Tipton, linebackers John Petrishen, Phil Campbell III and Chase Pine, offensive lineman Keldrick Wilson and punter Kirk Christodoulou.
The ACC Network, NFL Network and ESPN's SportsCenter each went live on television to report from Pitt's 2022 Pro Day, which was held at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on the South Side.
Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and Carolina Panthers head coach Matt Rhule were among the big names in attendance with nearly 100 NFL employees on site, with draft expert Todd McShay analyzing Pickett's workout for ESPN and NFL Network insider Aditi Kinkhabwala also providing live updates for television.
The standout performances of the day were by Mathis, who achieved a 43.5-inch vertical jump and 11-foot, 1-inch broad jump, which would've been the best at the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine, and Camp, who did 27 reps on the 225-pound bench press and looked athletic in running and agility drills.


Krull, Mack, Stoval, Tipton and returning Biletnikoff Award winner Jordan Addison each caught passes from Pickett during the throwing session and impressed scouts.
Petrishen, Campbell, Pine, Wilson and Christodoulou also each went through various workouts and positional drills and appeared to be in top shape ahead of the upcoming draft and NFL mini and training camps this summer.
The 2022 NFL Draft will be held in Las Vegas from April 28-30, with Pickett expected to become Pitt's first player selected in the first round since Aaron Donald in 2014.
