Pitt Gymnastics to Host Pride Tri-Meet Sunday

PITTSBURGH, Pa.—The University of Pittsburgh gymnastics team (6-6, 2-2 EAGL) will host a Pride-themed tri-meet with EAGL conference rivals George Washington and New Hampshire Sunday at 2 p.m. ET at the Fitzgerald Field House. All fans are encouraged to arrive before 1:45 p.m. as march-ins will begin at that time.

PROMOTIONS
- Scrunchie Giveaway: All fans will receive a Pitt Gymnastics pride scrunchie upon arrival at the Field House.
- PFLAG Partnership: The President of PFLAG Pittsburgh, Dave West, will be tabling at Sunday's meet. Stop by and learn more about the organization and how you can do more as an ally for the LGBTQ+ community.
- Alumnae Recognition: Welcome back to our alumnae! Recognition of participating alum will occur before first rotation.
- Trading Cards: Sunday's meet will feature the junior class trading cards, which will be available after the meet at the marketing table. Collect them all!
LAST TIME OUT
- The Panthers shattered their team bars program record with a 49.400 en route to their No. 4 team score in program history at 196.450.
- Senior Katie Chamberlain tied the Panthers' individual program record on bars with a career-best 9.950. She became the second Pitt gymnast ever to achieve the score on bars, after Samantha Salyers did so nearly 23 years ago to the day, on Feb. 13, 1999.
- Five of the six competitors on bars set career highs – Kailey Gillings (9.825), Jordyn Ewing (9.875), Chamberlain (9.950), Sidney Washington (9.825), Hallie Copperwheat (9.925).
- Pitt placed second behind the host Terrapins (196.700) but came out ahead of No. 6 Minnesota (196.2250).
SCOUTING THE COLONIALS
- George Washington (8-7, 1-2 EAGL) is coming off a loss versus No. 2 Oklahoma, 197.425-194.925 in Norman last Friday night.
- GW earned its fifth 194.000-plus of the season behind event scores of 48.825 on vault, 48.575 on bars, 48.700 on beam and 48.825 on floor.
- Rachel Katz earned a career-high 9.800 on bars in the opening rotation at Lloyd Noble Center. Deja Chambliss posted a 38.900 in the all-around, highlighted by a 9.875 on vault and a 9.900 on floor, earning her a pair of third-place finishes in the events.
- Sunday's meet will be the 38th meeting between George Washington and Pitt in program history. The Panthers currently hold a 7-1 lead against the Colonials when competing in Pittsburgh.
SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
- New Hampshire (6-5, 2-2 EAGL) are coming off a 195.875-191.625 win against Brown last Saturday night.
- The Wildcats had a clean sweep of the individual titles against Brown - Gracy Mowers (vault), junior Kylie Gorgenyi (bars), Alyssa Worthington (beam) and Hailey Lui (floor).
- Nine members of the Wildcats either set or tied career-high scores, and UNH totaled its second-highest score of the season.
- Sunday will be the 76th meeting between the Wildcats and Pitt. New Hampshire currently holds a 2-11 lead over the Panthers when competing in Pittsburgh.
