Pitt Travels to Virginia for ACC Championship
10/27/2022 2:42:00 PM | Cross Country
Pittsburgh- The Pitt men's and women's cross country squads are set to compete at the ACC Championship on Friday (Oct. 28) at Panorama Farms in Earlysville, Va.
The men will race in an 8k at 10:40 a.m., and the women's 6k race follows at 11:30 a.m.
The Pitt men's line up will comprise of Ethan Feinstein, Damian Frausto, Trey Gannon, Quintin Gatons, Peyton Geehrer, Luke Henseler, Ethan Maher, Luke Miller, Jack Miller, Sam Otis, and Finn Walsh
"As we kick off the championship segment in cross country, I look forward to seeing our student athletes perform at a higher level. Jack Miller and Henseler have been looking really strong in practice. Otis and Luke Miller are keeping the gaps small and will translate that over to the race," stated Brad Herbster. "With 7 or 8 Acc teams ranked on the top 30 national poll this will be the strongest conference in the nation and our fifth guy across that line needs to be quick for our team to have success. Geehrer and Gatons both are looking strong and can help the team," continued Herbster
The Pitt women's line up will include Ellen Baker, Mary Borkoski, Emily Brown, Gianna Cagliola, Sadie Carey-Tharp, Anna Cohen, Reagan Flannery, Winnie Incorvaia, Emily Jobes, and Caroline Rusinski.
"Women's side is going to be equally as challenging. I think about the same amount of nationally ranked teams as the men will toe the line Friday," Stated Herbster. "So, we must rely upon Brown, Carey-Tharp and Incorvaia who has been much improved to race all out and help elevate the team in a positive direction, continued Herbster.
