
Pitt Heads Down To Arkansas For Razorback Invitational This Weekend

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt track and field team heads south for their biggest test of the season this weekend as they travel to Arkansas for the Razorback Invitational at the Randal Tyson Indoor Track. The two-day meet begins Friday at 11:45 am with the heptathlon and runs through Saturday afternoon.

- Arkansas, Georgia, Iowa, Iowa State, LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Pitt, Stanford, USC.
- The ranked teams on the women's side are Arkansas (1), LSU (9), Georgia (16).
- The ranked teams on the men's side are Iowa (9), Georgia (11), USC (25).
- Senior Evan Addison opened up the meet for the Panthers with a victory in the mile run as he crossed the finish line in 4:05.71, two seconds ahead of teammate Jack Miller who took home second place. Addison also ran the opening leg of the Panthers' distance medley relay squad that picked up the victory in a season-best time of 9:59.25. Jack Balick, Finn Walsh and Miller also ran the relay that currently ranks fourth in the ACC.
- Ade Jones-Roundtree had an impressive showing in the 300m dash as he was able to post the victory with a new personal record time of 33.84 seconds. Lonzell Feagin, Cobe Wiggins and Nigel Hussey finished right behind Jones-Roundtree in second, third and fourth places, respectively. In the women's 300m dash, freshman Caleia Johnson took home second place with a personal record time of 40.11 seconds while transfer Kamryn McIntosh notched the fourth place finish in 41.61 seconds.
- Pitt also posted three top-10 all-time marks on the day as Breanna Phillips started things off with a great showing in the 600m dash. Phillips crossed the finish line with a new personal record time of 1:31.05 which marked the second fastest in program history in the event. In the women's mile run, Ally Brunton collected the second place finish with a new personal record time of 4:49.72, the second best time in program history in the event. After qualifying for the finals of the 60m Hurdles with the fourth fastest time, senior Kollin Smith ran a great race in the final as he grabbed second place with a personal record time of 8.00 seconds, the ninth fastest time in program history in the event.
- Pitt returns to the track next week as they head to Blacksburg for the Virginia Tech Elite Meet on Feb. 4-5 at the Rector Fieldhouse.
