
Men's 4x400m Relay Set To Open Up NCAA Outdoor Championships Wednesday

PITTSBURGH – After qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Championships two weeks ago, the Panthers 4x400m relay squad will hit the track on Wednesday night in Eugene, OR at the historic Hayward Field for the National Semifinals.
The quartet of Cobe Wiggins, Lonzell Feagin, Matt Wilson and Ade Jones-Roundtree will be running in the final race of opening night on Wednesday in Eugene. The semifinal race will feature three heats with the top-2 times from each heat and the next two fastest times overall advancing to the finals on Friday night.
The Panthers will run in the first heat on Wednesday at around 11:18 pm ET against the likes of Clemson, Virginia Tech, SE Louisiana, Iowa, North Carolina A&T, Texas and Oklahoma. North Carolina A&T enters the championship as the top ranked team while the Panthers finished ahead of Virginia Tech and Clemson at the East Preliminary Round.
The Panthers relay squad ran a season-best time of 3:06.92, the fifth fastest in program history, to qualify for the Outdoor Championships with the seventh fastest time overall in the East Region. Pitt's season-best time ranks 21st in the field of 24 teams.
Wiggins, Feagin, Wilson and Jones-Roundtree will be looking to become the first Pitt relay squad to earn All-American status since 2014 when the relay of Micah Murray, Carvin Nkanata, Desmond Palmer, Brycen Spratling earned Second Team All-America honors after finishing in 11th place overall.
