After the Hurricanes hit a three-run homer to go up 5-3 in the top of the sixth inning, the Panthers quickly responded with five runs to take the lead for good. The bases were loaded with one out from a hit by pitch to Bryce Hulett and singles from Brock Franks and pinch-hitter Matt Tarabek. After Jordan Anderson knocked in Hulett with an RBI-infield single, Sky Duff cleared the bases with a grand slam to right center, his second homer of the year.

The Panthers got on the board in the first inning. Duff led off with a double down the left field line. With Duff at third with two outs, Ron Washington, Jr. knocked him in with an infield single to the shortstop.
Miami tied it up in the fourth inning on a sac fly, but again Pitt responded in the bottom of the inning to take back the lead. Hulett doubled to right center with one out to bring home Yanni and Washington, Jr.
