Pitt, Boston College Moved to Two Double-Headers

PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh softball team travels to ACC foe Boston College for four games with the Eagles starting Friday, Apr. 23 at 4 p.m. The trip to Chestnut, Hill, Mass., is the last road trip for the Panthers this regular season.

- The series starts Friday with a double-header beginning at 1 p.m. and game two starting 40 minutes after game one. Sunday's series finale, scheduled for 12 p.m., has been moved to Friday due to rain in the forecast.
- The series concludes Saturday with a double-header starting at 1 p.m. with game two beginning 40 minutes after game one.
- All games will be live on the ACCNX.
- Freshman Cami Compson has flexed her muscles this season, hitting 10 home runs and registering four doubles, 25 RBI, 70 total bases and a team-best .673 slugging percentage. She also leads the team with a .419 on-base percentage.
- The Westerville, Ohio, native batted .500 (6-for-12) in Pitt's sweep of UNC, totaling seven RBI, two homers, 12 total bases, four walks and a 1.000 slugging percentage.
- Compson went 5-for-13 with two homers, four RBI, four runs and 13 total bases against Louisville. She registered a team-high .923 slugging percentage for the weekend.
- Compson went 5-for-13 with two homers, four RBI, 11 total bases and recorded a .846 slugging percentage at Georgia Tech.
- Compson went 3-for-3 with two home runs and four RBI in game one of its double-header Saturday, Mar. 13 at Georgia Tech.
- Compson totaled six RBI in one game Feb. 26 at Mercer, going 4-for-4 with one double, one homer and run. Her six RBI rank tied for second in the ACC for most in a single game this season.
- Speedster sophomore EC Taylor has shown her quickness on the base paths in her first season as a Panther.
- Taylor leads the team in hits (38) and runs (23), is tied for second in doubles (5) and leads the ACC in stolen bases with 25. Her stolen base count is tenth in the nation and her .64 stolen bases per game is tied for 21st in the country.
- Her four stolen bases Sunday, Feb. 21 against Virginia were the most in a single-game in school history, surpassing the previous mark of three most recently held by Reba Tutt (2011).
- Taylor stole three bases against Toledo Feb. 27, becoming the first Panther since Reba Tutt (2011) to have three stolen bags in a game.
- Taylor had four hits, a double, four RBI and three stolen bases at the FAU Parent's Weekend Tournament in Boca Raton, Fla.
- Taylor went 6-for-15 with seven runs, one double, one RBI and stole two bases at Georgia Tech.
- Taylor stole two bases against Louisville April 5, marking the sixth time this season she has stolen two or more bags in a game.
- Taylor had a career-high four hits in Pitt's final game against North Carolina Sunday, Apr. 18. She finished the four game series 10-for-14 (.714) with seven runs, four RBI and a .733 on-base percentage.
- Pitt swept ACC opponent North Carolina in four games April 16-18, its first sweep over an ACC opponent since May 5-7, 2019.
- The Panthers totaled 30 runs, 29 RBI, eight home runs, 65 total bases and totaled a combined .607 slugging percentage and .434 on-base percentage.
- Five Panthers hit over .500, highlighted by sophomore EC Taylor, who hit .714.
- Sophomore Sarah Seamans hit three homers, while senior Hunter Levesque registered two home runs, including a walk-off in game two.
- Pitt tallied 15 walks as a team for the series, with freshman Cami Compson and senior Chandler Walter each recording four.
- Junior infielder Sarah Seamans was honored by the ACC Apr. 20 for her performance against North Carolina.
- The New Castle, Pa., native hit .571 (8-for-14), recording eight hits, eight RBI, three homers, four runs, two walks and tallied a 1.214 slugging and .625 on-base percentage.
- Seamans is the second Panther player this season to be named ACC Player of the Week. Senior infielder Morgan Batesole earned Co-Player of the Week Mar. 2.
- The Eagles lead the all-time series 17-9.
- Pitt has won the last four meetings against BC, dating back to Mar. 25, 2017. The Panthers swept the Eagles at home in their last meeting May 3-5, 2019.
- Boston College enters the series 8-25 overall and 4-17 in ACC play. BC holds a 5-11 record at Boston College Softball Field.
- Junior Ellie Mataya leads the Eagle offense with a .355 batting average, totaling 39 hits, eight doubles, three triples, one homer, 16 RBI and seven walks. She has recorded a .509 slugging percentage for the season.
- Junior pitcher Susannah Anderson has a team-high 83 strikeouts with a 2.35 ERA this year. She has thrown 12 complete games with three shutouts and one save.
- The Panthers have a bye week from Apr. 26 through May 2 and return to action for their last regular season series at home May 7-9 vs. Florida State.
- Pitt's first game with the Seminoles is May 7 at 6 p.m.
- In Saturday's second game of the day, the team will honor Team Impact player Rylee DiTullio for her senior day recognition.
