GAME ONE
Sky Duff led off the first inning with a single to right field, and Nico Popa followed with a homer to right field, his eighth of the year. With one out, Ron Washington, Jr. singled through the left side, advanced to second base on a wild pitch and third on a throwing error and scored on a double to right field by David Yanni.

Washington, Jr. added to Pitt's lead in the fifth inning with a 437-foot, two-out solo homer to left field.

Sky Duff got the Panthers another run in the seventh inning. After leading off with a single to right center, he advanced three times on a wild pitch to reach home standing.

Pitt got one more insurance run the next inning. Bryce Hulett drew a leadoff walk, went to second base on a balk, advanced to third on a groundout from Brock Franks and scored on Ramon Padilla's sac fly to centerfield.

GAME TWO
All five runs came in the third inning. North Carolina got its two runs on a solo homer and RBI-double. For Pitt, Jordan Anderson led off with a single up the middle, and Duff drew a walk. With one out, Hess knocked in Anderson with a double to left field. With two outs, Yanni brought both Duff and Hess home with a single to centerfield.

NOTES
- Both Pitt starting pitchers picked up wins. Mitch Myers (3-4) went six innings in game one with two runs, six hits, two walks and three strikeouts for the win, and Matt Gilbertson (5-3) threw seven innings with two runs, six hits, no walks and eight strikeouts to claim the victory.
- Gilbertson has gone at least five innings in all 13 career starts this season.
- Jordan McCrum pitched the ninth inning in both games, getting the save in game two, and only allowed no runs or walks and one hit with two strikeouts.
- Pitt's bullpen combined for five scoreless innings of relief, no walks and three hits as Chase Smith (two strikeouts), C.J. McKennitt and Corey Sawyer each threw an inning.
- Anderson, Yanni and Hess each had a team-high three hits on the day, and Anderson has a series-high two extra-base hits (double and triple).
- Yanni recorded a doubleheader-high three RBIs.
- Pitt drew eight walks on the day and limited North Carolina to two.
