NEWS & NOTES
- Junior Sarah Seamans went 3-for-3 with two doubles, two runs, one walk and four RBI against Virginia. The two doubles were a career-high, while the four RBI tied a career-best.
- Freshman Dani Drogemuller earned her first win in the circle as a Panther, throwing four innings of scoreless ball with two strikeouts against Virginia. She improved her record to 1-1 on the year.
- In game two, both teams combined for 24 hits (12 each) and 22 runners left of base.
Duke (5-0, 1-0 ACC), the designated visiting team, scored two runs in the top half of the first and took an early 2-0 lead. The Blue Devils added two more in the second to lead, 4-0. Senior Hunter Levesque saved two runs in the second, as she extended to her right and made a diving catch at the warning track to rob an extra base hit away from Deja Davis.

GAME TWO
After a scoreless first inning, Virginia (1-2, 0-1 ACC) broke open the scoring with three runs in the top of the second. Pitt (1-3, 1-1 ACC) answered with a run (3-1) in the bottom of the frame, courtesy of freshman Cami Compson, who earned her first collegiate RBI with a single to right, scoring senior Morgan Batesole.
In the bottom of the third, Seamans drove in two with a double to right center, tying the game at three all. After a Compson walk, sophomore Bailey Drapola stepped in for the first time as a Panther, and poked a single down the left field line on the first pitch to bring in Seamans and give the Panthers a 4-3 lead.
Virginia knotted the game up at four all as Katie Goldberg delivered an RBI single for the Hoos. The Cavaliers had the bases loaded with two outs, but Drogemuller delivered a strike out to leave the runners stranded.
Seamans led off the bottom of the fifth with a single and advanced to second from a sac bunt from Compson. Sophomore EC Taylor slapped a hard hit ball up the middle, scoring Seamans and putting Pitt back on top, 5-4. The RBI was the first for Taylor as a Panther.

Drogemuller and the defense held on the rest of the way for the first victory of the season.
Junior Abby Edwards started the game for the Panthers and pitched two innings, while sophomore Becca Miller came in relief and pitched one. Drogemuller pitched the remaining four, striking out two and giving up zero runs for her first collegiate victory.
Seamans went 3-for-3 with two doubles, two runs and four RBI along with one walk. Batesole registered her first multi-hit game of the season with two hits and three runs scored. Taylor went 1-for-3 with an RBI and two stolen bases on the night.
