
Pitt, Temple Record Tie at Until We Unite Gymnastics Meet

Panthers, Owls Both Score 194.525
PITTSBURGH – In a meet promoting unity and equality, the Pitt gymnastics team (2-5-1, 2-4-1 EAGL) tied its opponent, Temple (0-7-1, 0-4-1 EAGL), with a score of 194.525 Sunday afternoon at Fitzgerald Field House.
The Panthers debuted black leotards emblazoned with the letters "BLM" on the arm to promote inclusion with the theme of "Until We Unite."
The tie is Pitt's third in program history, and the first since Jan. 23, 2004, with West Virginia in a tri-meet hosted by the Mountaineers, where the teams each recorded a score of 195.300. Pitt's only other tie also came against West Virginia, this time on Feb. 15, 1986, with scores of 177.500.
Three Panthers earned event wins: Katrina Coca on uneven bars, Jordan Ceccarini on floor exercise, and Lauren Beckwith in the all-around. Coca and Ceccarini each tied their season-high scores of 9.875 on their respective events. Beckwith recorded season-high scores on vault (9.700) and beam (9.950), as well as the all-around (38.125).
VAULT
Three Panthers earned podium spots on vault, with sophomore Emily Liszewski recording a runner-up score of 9.825. All five competing Panthers recorded season-best or career-best scores. Juniors Katie Chamberlain and Olivia Miller tied for third place with scores of 9.800, as Chamberlain's score marked a career high. Pitt ended the first rotation with a score of 48.875.
BARS
The Panthers swept the top four scores on bars, with Coca leading for Pitt. Her season-best score of 9.875 was good for the individual event win. Chamberlain followed with a 9.850, and freshman Trinity Macy earned a career-best 9.800. Miller rounded out the top scores with a 9.775. Overall, Pitt earned a 48.400 for the second rotation to total 97.725.
BEAM
Beckwith led the way for Pitt with a career-high tying 9.850. Chamberlain followed with a 9.800, and Coca contributed a 9.775. Rounding out the top scores were junior Kiley Robatin (9.725) and Macy (9.675). Pitt totaled 48.825 on beam to bring its three-event score to 146.100.
FLOOR
Ceccarini picked up the crown for the Panthers on floor exercise, recording a season-best score of 9.875. Beckwith was next with a 9.775, and Miller put forth a 9.700. Pitt's 48.425 score in the fourth rotation tied the meet at 194.525, marking the Panthers' third tie in program history and its first since 2004.
UP NEXT
The Panthers will travel to Towson, Md., for a quad meet with host Towson alongside No. 23 North Carolina and LIU, Friday at 6 p.m. ET.
