PITTSBURGH — Pitt women's soccer's (10-7-0, 3-6-0) fell 2-1 to Wake Forest (14-3-0, 6-3-0) Sunday afternoon at Ambrose Urbanic Field. With the Panthers leading at halftime, the Demon Deacons scored two goals in a 57-second span in the 50th and 51st minutes.

Amanda West scored the lone Panthers' goal, her team-leading ninth of the year, in the 15th minute. Sarah Schupansky forced a leaping save that bounced off the crossbar for West to head in the rebound from four yards out.

Pitt closes out the regular season at home next Thursday at 7 p.m. against (RV) NC State.

NEWS AND NOTES

Katherine Robinson made seven saves, including one on a penalty kick.
West tied Roosa Arvas (2014) and Netta Agredano (2001) for the fourth-most goals and Arvas for the fifth-most points (21) in a single season in program history.
Sarah Schupansky tied Agredano for the seventh-most points (19).
Wake Forest had the advantage in shots (21-14) and shots in goals (9-8) while Pitt led in corner kicks (4-3).
West and Emily Yaple both had a team-high three shots with West the lone Panther to have two shots on goal.
