MIAMI, Fla. – Pitt baseball (10-4, 0-2 ACC) was shut out 5-0 at No. 6 Miami (10-4, 2-0) Saturday night at Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field.
The Hurricanes got the lead with a pair of RBI-doubles and an RBI-ground out in the third inning.
Miami added another run on an RBI-single with two outs in the fifth inning. The Hurricanes scored their last run in the seventh inning on a sac fly to left field.
NEWS AND NOTES
HEAD COACH MIKE BELL'S TAKE
"Runs were going to be tough to come by with Miami's Chris McMahon on the mound, and we missed a couple opportunities early on," said Pitt head coach Mike Bell. "I thought we hit some balls hard on a tough day to hit with 15-20 mph winds blowing in. They found a hole or two and got the big hit with two outs. Tomorrow is a new day, and we'll be ready to go."
