
Panthers Head To Charlottesville For Clash With Cavaliers On Thursday

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – The Pitt women's basketball team will hit the road for the first of two straight on the road on Thursday night as they take on the Virginia Cavaliers at 7:00 pm.

- Thursday night's game at Virginia will air live on ACC Network Extra with Dave Koehn (play-by-play) and Fran Harris (analyst) on the call. The game can be streamed by clicking HERE.

- This meeting marks the 10th meeting of all-time between the two programs with Pitt holding the slim 5-4 edge in the series.
- The Cavaliers have won two straight in the series after the Panthers won the previous five straight.

- Pitt's last win over Virginia came on Jan. 22, 2017.
- The Virginia Cavaliers enter Thursday night's game with a 12-15 overall record and a 7-9 ACC mark. The Cavaliers are coming off of an impressive win over Virginia Tech on the road last time out, 86-76.
- The Cavaliers are being led offensively by the leading scorer in the ACC Jocelyn Willoughby. The senior is averaging 19.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.4 steals while connecting on a team-high 34 three-pointers and shooting 42.5% from deep.
- Fellow senior Dominique Toussaint ranks second on the team in scoring averaging 11.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and a team-high 3.3 assists while making 21 starts this season.
- As a team, the Cavaliers are averaging 61.6 points while allowing an average of 62.8 ppg. They are grabbing 35.7 rpg while allowing 35.9 rpg to their opponents so far this season.
- The Panthers hosted #5 Louisville for Senior Day at the Pete and they were downed 79-47.
- Junior Gabbie Green led the Panthers in scoring as she netted 11 points and two boards while Dayshanette Harris netted 10 points, five rebounds and two assists.
- Freshman Rita Igbokwe made her third straight start and posted eight points, six rebounds, two blocks, two assists and a steal while Amber Brown had a team-high nine boards in the loss.
- As a team, the Panthers were outscored 34-20 inside the paint and 22-4 in the fast break.
- Pitt will wrap up their regular season on the road on Sunday afternoon as they take on Miami at 3:00 pm in Coral Gables.
