
Pitt Set To Host #5 Louisville For Senior Day On Sunday

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt women's basketball team will honor a pair of seniors on Sunday afternoon as they play host to #5 Louisville inside the Petersen Events Center at 2:00 pm. Sunday's game will air live on ACC Network Extra with Jeff Hathhorn (play-by-play) and Amanda Silay (analyst) on the call.

- This meeting marks the 22nd meeting of all-time between the two programs with Louisville holding the 19-2 lead.
- The Cardinals have won 15 straight in the series including a win earlier this season in Louisville.
- Pitt is 2-7 all-time against the Cardinals in Pittsburgh.
- The Panthers last win the series came on Feb. 14, 2010.
- The Louisville Cardinals are currently ranked fifth in the latest AP Top-25 poll as they have a 24-3 overall record and a 13-2 ACC mark. The Cardinals have won three straight including a 58-47 win over Georgia Tech last time out.
- Louisville is being led offensively by one of the best scorers in the ACC, Dana Evans. Evans is averaging 18.1 points, a team-high 4.2 assists and 2.7 rebounds while connecting on an ACC-high 78 triples while shooting an ACC-best 41.9% from behind the arc.
- Jazmine Jones is enjoying a strong senior campaign as she is posting 14.0 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.7 steals for the Cardinals. Kylee Shook is averaging 9.4 points, 8.0 rebounds and an ACC-high 2.8 blocks.
- As a team, Louisville is the second highest scoring offense (73.4 ppg) and the third best defensive team (57.4 ppg) while shooting an ACC-best 45.7% from the floor as a team.
- The Panthers put together a good first and fourth quarter on Thursday night at Boston College but the two middle quarters cost Pitt as they fell to the Eagles 70-59 on the road.
- Freshman Dayshanette Harris did everything she could to try and keep her team in the game as she netted a career-high 27 points, six rebounds and two steals across 29 minutes of action.
- Junior Gabbie Green chipped in with 11 points and five rebounds while Rita Igbokwe snagged eight boards in the loss.
- As a team, Pitt was outrebounded once again on Thursday, 43-31. The Panthers were able to turn 16 Boston College turnovers into 20 points in the loss.
- Dayshanette Harris has handled the reins of the Pitt offense since her first day on campus and she is showing flashes of becoming a star for the Panthers.
- Harris had the best game of her young career on Thursday night as she netted a career-high 27 points, six rebounds and two steals across just 29 minutes of work at Boston College.
- The 27-point effort by Harris marked the most point scored in a game by a Pitt freshman since Mallorie Winn scored 27 against Ole Miss in 2006.
- Harris is the first Pitt freshman to post three 20+ scoring games in a season since Brianna Kiesel in 2011-12. Kiesel had seven 20+ scoring outings as a freshman.
- She has really picked up her play over the last eight games as she is averaging a team-high 16.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.9 steals across an average of 30.1 minutes.
- On the year, Harris is averaging 26.7 minutes, 11.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists and a team-best 1.8 steals while starting 19 of 25 games at the point.
- In ACC games, Harris is leading all freshman in scoring as she is averaging a team-high 12.9 points.
- Harris is the only true freshman in a Power Five conference to average at least 11.0 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 2.5 assists and 1.8 spg on the year.
- Harris has notched two or more steals in 12 of her last 15 games for the Panthers as she is becoming a threat on the defensive end of the court. She has a total of 16 multi-steal games so far this season.
- Harris was named ACC Freshman of the Week for the first time two weeks as she averaged 15.0 points and 7.0 rebounds while leading Pitt to their first ACC win.
- She is the second Pitt freshman to earn the weekly ACC honor, marking the first time in program history Pitt had two different ACC Freshman of the Week honorees in the same season.
