PITTSBURGH – Pitt women's soccer (7-2-0, 2-2-0) topped Boston College (0-3-0, 0-3-0) 4-3 Thursday night at Ambrose Urbanic Field. Only eight seconds after the Eagles tied the game up for a second time, Anna Rico scored the game-winning goal on a laser shot way outside of the box in the 74th minute.
Trailing 2-1 at halftime, Amanda West recorded her second goal of the game in the 55th minute after making a move past two defenders in the left side of the box and flipping the ball over the diving goalkeeper.
Emily Yaple momentarily gave Pitt the lead in the 61st minute. On a free kick, Kate McKay sent a pass inside the box where Yaple one-touched it into the back of the net.
West notched the game's first goal in the sixth minute. Drawing a penalty kick after the goalkeeper dove and tripped her up, she converted the attempt in the right side of the net.
Pitt continues its four-game homestand Sunday at 1:30 p.m. against Navy, who the Panthers defeated 1-0 in overtime in Annapolis on Sept. 20.
