
Pitt Travels To #4 Louisville For ACC Test On Sunday

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt women's basketball team (9-11, 0-6 ACC) will look to snap their current six-game losing streak on Sunday afternoon as they hit the road for a tough test against #4 Louisville at 2:00 pm inside the KFC YUM! Center. The Cardinals enter Sunday's game with an 18-1 overall record and a 6-1 ACC mark so far this season.

- Sunday's game at #4 Louisville will broadcast live on ACC Network Extra or on WatchESPN/WatchESPN app. Don Russell (play-by-play), Sara White (color) and Cortnee Walton (sideline) will be on the call.

- The game against #4 Louisville on Sunday marks the fourth game against a ranked ACC opponent through seven ACC games for the Panthers this season.
- One of the keys during Panther victories this season has been winning the battle in the paint as they own a 9-3 record this year when out-scoring opponents inside and a 0-8 mark when not doing so.
- The Panthers (9-11, 0-6 ACC) used an 11-0 run in the third quarter to tie the game but the Virginia Cavaliers ran away late in the quarter to secure the 74-57 win on Thursday night.
- For the second straight game, the Panthers saw three players score in double figures as they combined for 47 of the Panthers 57 points in the loss.
- Senior Danielle Garven led the way on Thursday night as she netted 19 points and five assists while going 9-for-12 from the floor. 17 of her 19 points came in the second half.
- Sophomore center Cara Judkins had a career night in the loss as she netted a career-best 18 points, three rebounds and two blocks while going 8-for-14 from the floor.
- As a team, the Panthers held the slim 34-32 edge in rebounds and the 34-24 lead in points in the paint.
- The Louisville Cardinals enter Sunday afternoons game against Pitt ranked fourth in the nation in the latest AP Top-25 poll and USA Today Top-25 Coaches Poll that were released on Monday.
- The Cardinals enter the game with an 18-1 overall record and a 6-1 ACC mark as they have won four straight including a dominant 68-49 victory over Florida State on the road on Thursday.
- Louisville is being led offensively by one of the best players in the country, Asia Durr, who is averaging 21.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.5 steals while connecting on 50 three-pointers on the year. In ACC play, Durr ranks second in the conference averaging 18.6 points/game.
- The Offensively gifted Cardinals have eight players that currently average over 5.0 points/game. Sam Fuehring ranks second on the squad averaging 10.2 points to go along with a team-best 6.4 rebounds. Dana Evans has been a strong contributor off the Cardinals bench as she is averaging 23.9 minutes, 9.5 points, a team-high 3.7 assists and a team-best 1.6 steals.
- As a team, Louisville ranks second in the ACC in scoring (80.8 ppg), fourth in scoring defense (60.5 ppg) and second in field goal percentage (48.8%). The Cardinals are also very efficient from behind the arc as they are connecting on an ACC-best 38.0% of their triple attempts.
- Pitt will return home on Thursday night as they welcome the Virginia Tech Hokies to the Petersen Events Center for a 7:00 pm tip.
- After the Virginia Tech game, Pitt will return to the road for a pair of games as they head to Duke on Feb. 3 and Georgia Tech on Feb. 7.
