The Panthers trailed by six at halftime but shot only 21% in the second half as the Orange pulled away to improve to 15-2 overall and 4-0 in ACC play.

"We just couldn't sustain that high level of play for as long as we needed to against a really good team tonight."
After the Orange pushed their lead out to 9-4 early on with a triple, junior Jasmine Whitney responded with a three of her own to cut into the Syracuse lead. The Orange were then able to score five straight to take the 14-7 edge but Pitt responded over the next two minutes with a 9-0 that was capped by a Cara Judkins layup and a Kauai Bradley three-pointer to give the Panthers the 16-14 lead.
