- Redshirt junior Yacine Diop is the league's 10th-ranked scorer with 15.6 points per game.
- Junior center Kalista Walters continues to lead the ACC field goal percentage rankings (.653). The NCAA ranks only student-athletes who average five made field goals per game, and Walters averages 4.6.
- Pitt leads the ACC in blocked shots per game (6.4), ranking eighth in the nation. The Panthers are also eighth in the country in total blocked shots (159).
A WIN WOULD…
- Be the Panthers' second win ever when playing in Coral Gables, Fla. (1-13). Pitt's lone win at Miami came Feb. 2, 1994 (59-53).
- Be Pitt's first against Miami since Feb. 1, 2015, at Petersen Events Center (81-66). The Panthers are looking to snap a three-game losing streak against the Hurricanes.
LAST TIME OUT
- Redshirt junior forward Yacine Diop became the 19th player in program history to record 1,000 career points as Pitt fell on the road at Boston College, 72-61, Sunday afternoon at Conte Forum.
- Diop ended the game with team highs of 22 points and nine rebounds, marking her seventh game of 20 or more points this season. She was the lone Panther to reach double-figure scoring. Junior center Kalista Walters had nine points and five rebounds, and Kauai Bradley and Danielle Garven had eight points apiece.
- The Eagles outshot the Panthers, 45.7 percent to 36.8 percent, and scored 19 points off 19 Pitt turnovers. Four from Boston College had double figures in the scoring column, led by Georgia Pineau with a game-high 23 points.
WATCHING WHITNEY
- With 117 assists on the season, point guard Jasmine Whitney needs eight more to tie Laine Selwyn for the third most made by a sophomore in program history (125).
- Whitney is 12 steals and 20 rebounds away from reaching 100 and 200 for her career, respectively.
SCOUTING THE HURRICANES
- Miami (17-8, 7-5 ACC) received votes in both the AP and USA Today Coaches Polls this week. The Hurricanes have won three out of their last four outings, falling only to then-ranked No. 12/12 Florida State Sunday in Coral Gables, Fla., 91-71.
- The Hurricanes are third in the ACC in steals per game (9.8) and 3-point field goal percentage defense (.293).
- Senior Eryka Davenport leads the ACC in offensive rebounding with 3.5 per game. She is the Hurricanes' top scorer and rebounder with 12.0 points and 8.9 boards per outing. Freshman guard Mykea Gray is the team's only other double-figure scorer with 11.6 points per game.
- Miami leads the all-time series, 20-9, against the Panthers. Pitt is 1-13 when playing in Coral Gables, with its lone win coming Feb. 2, 1994 (59-53).
