Pitt welcomes the Fordham Rams to the Petersen Events Center on Wednesday evening
PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh women's basketball team opens up a four-game homestand on Wednesday evening as they welcome the Fordham Rams to the Petersen Events Center. The Panthers will be in search of their fourth straight win as they play host to the Rams at 7:00 pm on Wednesday.

LAST TIME OUT
- The Panthers (5-4, 0-0 ACC) collected their third straight victory as they handed the Northwestern Wildcats the 52-49 defeat on the road in the ACC/B1G Challenge on Thursday night.
- Pitt had three players score in double figures on Thursday as senior Cassidy Walsh led all Panthers with 11 points in the win.
- Off the bench, senior Kauai Bradley had a strong game for the Panthers as she snagged a career-high 13 rebounds and added seven points in the win.
- Defensively, Pitt put together another stingy performance as they held the Wildcats to just 26.3% shooting from the floor including 14.3% from behind the arc.
SCOUTING THE RAMS
- Fordham comes to town with a 5-4 overall record after defeating Manhattan last time out by the score of 65-61.
- The Rams are being led offensively by Bre Cavanaugh who is averaging 37.9 minutes, 19.2 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists while connecting on a team-high 20 three-pointers.
- Kendell Heremaia is enjoying a nice start to her season as she is second on the team averaging 10.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and a team-high 2.8 assists while connecting on 46.9% of her three-point shots.
- As a team, the Rams are averaging 62.2 points/game while allowing 63.4 points/game. They are outrebounding their opponents 35.3 to 33.4 while also grabbing an average of 12.7 offensive rebounds/game this season.
- Fordham is coached by Stephanie Gaitley who has accumulated 613 career head coaching victories across her prestigious career. Gaitley is the Rams all-time winningest coach as she has notched 149 wins on the Fordham sidelines.
LOOKING AHEAD
- Pitt will return home this weekend as they welcome the West Virginia Mountaineers to the Petersen Events Center on Saturday at 3:00 pm.
- After Saturday's Backyard Brawl, the Panthers will remain home for two more games as they welcome UNCW (Dec. 18) and Saint Francis (PA) (Dec. 21).
