Hola hola desde Barcelona!
What a wonderful day! Wednesday was a long day; we did a lot of things! We woke up and had once again an amazing breakfast from the hotel. My teammates and I love it! I am definitely more used to this kind of food since I am from Spain, but I didn't eat it for so long so I really missed it! Callie and Jovana can't stop telling me how much they love the Spanish bread with jamón serrano and tomato accompanied of café con leche.
After that, we took our van and went to the Catalan Tennis Federation. We played against some of the girls from there and we played a singles and a doubles each. Personally, I won both singles and doubles. I enjoyed playing too because I missed competing in the Spanish weather!
After a full morning of tennis, we ate lunch in the restaurant located next to the hotel. The food was amazing! So healthy; my teammates and me are literally enjoying every meal we are eating here from the first day. When we finished, we took a fast shower and the plan was to take the tour bus and visit "La Sagrada Familia" and "Park Guell".
We stopped and went into la "Sagrada Familia". Such a beautiful and very historic known monument because of the kind of architecture. After that, we took the bus again to visit the Park. This was located at the top of a mountain. The hills we needed to walk to get there were super high, but for sure the effort was worth it. The views we saw when we got into the top of the mountain were unreal.
We took some pictures up there and then we went to a restaurant that was on top of another mountain. The views were incredible as well. From the mountain, you could see the whole city of Barcelona, including the most famous monuments and the sea. Once we got to the restaurant, we had another amazing Spanish dinner including arroz con calamares (rice with calamari). Being from Spain, I really missed all of the seafood, but today I was able to have my favorite meal again.
We are all pretty tired but that hasn't stopped us from bonding as a team and getting better on the court each day! We're all excited for another day in this beautiful city!
Hail to Pitt!
