- Junior forward Kalista Walters continues to lead the ACC in field goal percentage at .700 (35-of-50). She has shot .500 or above in all seven games this season. She and Digna Strautmane of Syracuse are tied for the league lead with 2.6 blocks per game.

A WIN WOULD…
- Help the Panthers remain unbeaten in the all-time series against Fordham, improving to 3-0.
- Improve Pitt's record to 11-18 when playing in the New York City metropolitan area.
- Be Pitt's first win when playing in the Big Apple since defeating Wagner in Staten Island, 69-55, Dec. 7. 2013.
- Help the Panthers remain unbeaten when playing on the road this season, improving to 2-0.
- Match Pitt's 6-2 start from last season.
PANTHERS IN THE BIG APPLE
- Pitt holds a 24-34 all-time record against teams from New York City and its surrounding neighborhoods, including Fordham (The Bronx – 2-0), St. Francis (Brooklyn – 1-0), St. John's (Queens – 16-34), and Wagner (Staten Island – 5-0). The Panthers have yet to face Columbia (Manhattan), LIU Brooklyn (Brooklyn) and Manhattan (The Bronx).
- The Panthers have a 10-18 record when playing in the New York City metropolitan area, last traveling there when they defeated Wagner in Staten Island, 69-55, during Pitt's first season under Suzie McConnell-Serio (Dec. 7, 2013).
- Pitt's last trip to the Bronx was Dec. 30, 2004, when the Panthers defeated Fordham, 58-51.
LAST TIME OUT
- Pitt came up just short against Wisconsin as part of the 2017 edition of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, falling 58-57 Wednesday night at Petersen Events Center.
- Redshirt junior forward Yacine Diop led the Panthers in scoring for the sixth consecutive outing with a game-high 17 points, extending her double-figure scoring streak to seven games. She added five rebounds. Sophomore point guard Jasmine Whitney had nine points to go along with five assists. Freshmen Kyla Nelson and Pika Rodriguez each hit three 3-pointers for nine points apiece.
- After entering the fourth quarter down by 10, the Panthers used a 14-2 run to start the period and re-gained a 57-55 lead. A 3-pointer by Wisconsin's Courtney Frederickson with 2:45 remaining sealed the deal for the Badgers, as the Panthers' final attempt by Whitney at the buzzer did not fall.
- A major contributor to the Panthers' woes was cold free throw shooting. Averaging 74.1 percent from the line prior to the game, Pitt went 6-of-14 (42.9 percent) from the charity stripe in the loss.
SCOUTING THE RAMS
- Fordham (3-2, 0-0 Atlantic 10) has won its last two games, including its most recent outing at rival Manhattan (54-48) Wednesday. The Rams are 2-0 at home so far.
- Senior forward G'mrice Davis leads the nation with 14.6 rebounds per game. She pulled down 15 last time out against Manhattan. Davis also leads the Rams in scoring with 15.6 points per game.
- The Panthers are 2-0 all-time against the Rams, winning the first meeting, 62-48, at Petersen Events Center (Dec. 31, 2003), and claiming the second, 58-51, in the Bronx (Dec. 30, 2004).
UP NEXT
- Pitt will travel to Morgantown, W.Va., to take on No. 11/12 West Virginia in the Backyard Brawl at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at WVU Coliseum.
