PITTSBUGRH - The Pitt tennis team will head to Norfolk, Va., this weekend to compete in the ITA Atlantic Regional Championships. Competition will take place Oct. 14-18th, hosted by Old Dominion University in the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.
The Panthers will face off against numerous opponents from the Atlantic Region, including ACC opponents Virginia and Virginia Tech.
In last year's championships, Amber Washington and Lolade Ogungbesan became the first Pitt doubles team to ever reach the semifinals of the ITA Regional Tournament.
Singles will start at 9 a.m. each day, with doubles following as courts become available.
Pitt enters the weekend hoping to continue the momentum from a strong showing at the Wildcat Invite in their last time out. Ogungbesan and Blakely claimed the doubles A Draw consolation title, while the Panthers played strong in singles with numerous players finishing with winning records.
Daily recaps of the Regional Championships will be posted on PittsburghPanthers.com.
