RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Pittsburgh opened ACC play with a 68-50 road loss to NC State on Saturday afternoon.
Jamel Artis scored 13 points to lead the Panthers, while James Robinson added 11 points on four of seven shooting.
Trevor Lacey scored a game-high 19 points and Ralston Turner added 16 for the Wolfpack, who regrouped from an ugly home loss to Cincinnati earlier this week with a much stronger performance.
N.C. State shot 52 percent, including 16-for-27 (59 percent) after halftime. The Wolfpack pushed the margin to 21 points with about 7 minutes left and never let the lead slip below double figures.
Pittsburgh won its first-ever ACC regular-season game here almost exactly a year earlier. But they shot just 33 percent and couldn't pull out the win in Raleigh this year.
Pittsburgh's top scorer Michael Young had 10 points on 3-for-8 shooting and No. 2 scorer Robinson hit right at his average of 11 points.
Pitt shot 5-for-15 from 3-point range.
The Panthers look to bounce back when they travel to Chestnut Hill to face Boston College on Tuesday.
