•Pitt's six-game win streak came to an end as it dropped a 68-50 loss to NC State in its ACC regular season opener. 
•Pitt's 18-point loss marked its largest margin of defeat in ACC regular season play. It was the largest margin of defeat for Pitt this season. The Panthers dropped a 15-point game to Duke (80-65) last year. 
•Jamie Dixon dropped to 298-100 all-time as a head coach in his 12th year at Pitt. He needs just two more wins to reach the 300-win plateau. 
•Pitt shot a season-low 32.7 percent (18-55) from the floor. 
•Pitt's 20 points in the first half marked its season-low scoring output in a half this year. 
•Pitt was outscored 36-14 in the paint and outrebounded 34-30. 
•In the second half alone, NC State shot 59.3 percent (16-27) and hit 5-8 of its 3-point attempts. 
•Pitt, which put together the ACC's best road record last season with a 7-2 record, has now won nine of its last 15 and 13 of its last 20 road matchups. 
•Jamel Artis led Pitt with 13 points (5-11 FG). It was his seventh double figure scoring game of the season and ninth of his career. He tied a career-high as he played 35 minutes. 
•With his 10 points, Michael Young reached double figure scoring for the sixth consecutive game, 16th time in his career and 11th time this year. He led Pitt with nine rebounds. 
•With his 11 points, James Robinson reached double figures for the seventh time this year and 24th time in his career. He tied a career-high with three 3-point field goals made. 
•Pitt dropped to 2-11 all-time NC State and 1-8 vs. the Wolfpack on the road.
