MIAMI – Due to inclement weather, the opening round of the Hurricane Invitational at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center has been postponed and will resume tomorrow morning.
Before play was suspended, the opening round of doubles was completed and in the Green Bracket the duo of Amber Washington and Amanda Wickman defeated the pairing of Argente/Grillo of USF by the score of 8-4.
"We were very happy with the leadership from our seniors today," head coach Alex Santos said. "Katherine and Lolade played some of their best doubles to date while competing against one of the best teams in the country. It was also great to watch Amber and Callie wearing blue and gold for the first time and we couldn't be happier having them as part of the Pitt Tennis family. Unfortunately we were only able to start our singles matches before rain cancelled play, but we are very excited for a full day of tennis tomorrow."
This is Pitt’s first tournament of the 2014-15 campaign and it features Miami, Baylor, Auburn, USF and UNF.
