MORGANTOWN, W.Va.-Freshman Jocelyn Lu earned a win in No. 2 singles, however, the University of Pittsburgh women's tennis team suffered a 6-1 loss to Rutgers in a neutral site contest. The Panthers slipped to 7-8 on the year and 2-5 in the Big East.
Lu recorded her 18th win of the season with her 13th straight-set victory in singles. She leads the Panthers in single season-victories with that total.
Playing next to Lu in No. 3 singles, freshman Kimmy Borza attempted a comeback when she posted a 6-4 victory in her second set. However, her opponent held off Borza when she claimed a 6-4 decision in the third set.
The Panthers opened the match, falling in all three doubles contests. However, the No. 2 doubles team of Lu and Borza won five games in their match.
