Lu Earns Her 20th Singles Win of the Year

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Freshman Jocelyn Lu earned her 20th singles win of the season, however the University of Pittsburgh women’s tennis team dropped a 4-2 decision to Georgetown, this afternoon at the McDonough Outdoor Tennis Complex.
The squads did not play doubles this afternoon. In singles action, Georgetown won the first four matches that finished.
Recording her 32nd overall win of the season, Lu tallied a victory in No. 2 singles. She has won the last seven of nine matches played. This was also her fourth tiebreaker win of the year.
Finishing last in No. 6 singles, junior Minh Evans also won in a tiebreaker. After falling 6-4 in the first set, she forced a decider with a 6-4 tally of her own. Evans outlasted her opponent in the third stanza with an 11-9 score.
The Panthers will play Marshall at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 15, in the squad’s regular-season finale.
