Pitt Gymnastics Falls On The Road To N.C. State

The Pitt gymnastics team fell to East Atlantic Gymnastics League foe N.C. State Saturday night in Raleigh, scoring a 191.900 on the night. The Wolfpack scored a 194.950 in the win.
Junior Molly Moyer (Telford, Pa./Buxmont Christian) competed in her first all-around competition, scoring a 37.625, including a 9.575 on the vault, a 9.550 on the beam, a 8.900 on the beam and a 9.600 on the floor.
Freshman Meaghan Biros (Chicago, Ill./Mother McAuley), who had her career-high score, finished third in the all-around with a 38.725 on the night, including a team-high on the vault, beam and floor. Sophomore Alicia Talucci (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) finished fourth on the all-around with a 38.375.
Jessica Byich (Nicktown, Pa./Bishop Carroll) competed in two events, but also contributed in a third event. Byich scored a 9.625 on the bars and a 9.650 on the beam, while contributing an exhibition vault which has been upgraded lately to a 10.0 value.
Pitt will return home Friday, March 5 at 7 p.m. at Fitzgerald Field House against Western Michigan, George Washington and Penn for a quad meet.
