Women's Tennis Faces CMU Today

PITTSBURGH—The University of Pittsburgh women’s tennis team travels down the road, as the Panthers face Carnegie Mellon on Wednesday, March 25, at 3:30 p.m. Pitt looks to improve upon its 10-3 overall record.
The Panthers are coming off wins over Youngstown State (5-2) and Villanova (7-0). Pitt’s win over the Wildcats lifted the squad to a perfect 5-0 record in Big East play, which is a program first.
Senior Kristy Borza (Beaver, Pa./Beaver Area) recorded two wins at No. 1, last week. The current school record holder, she boasts a career high 90 wins in singles, 81 in doubles and 171 combined.
Borza and teammate Elizabeth Adams (Reading, Pa./Wilson) are currently 19-2 as the squad’s No. 1 doubles team.
Carnegie Mellon’s (14-1) No. 1 doubles team of Ashley Herrick and Laura Chen are this week’s University Athletic Association Players of the Week and are 12-3 as a pair. Last season, Pitt earned an 8-1 victory over Carnegie Mellon. The Panthers are 27-2 in the all-time series.
