Women's Tennis Hosts Army on Friday

PITTSBURGH—The University o f Pittsburgh women’s tennis team will host Army on Friday, March 13, at The Club, in a 12:30 afternoon matchup. The Panthers enter the contest at 8-2, while the Black Knights are 11-7 overall.
Pitt returns home after splitting its spring break matches in Florida. First, the Panthers won 9-0 over St. Thomas, before dropping a 6-3 contest to Nova Southeastern. Sophomore Adela Aprodu has won her last eight of nine matches, in singles action, and is 12-5 on the year.
Pitt’s No. 1 singles team of sophomore Elizabeth Adams and Kristy Borza are currently 16-2 on the season, including a perfect 10-0 spring record.
The Black Knights are on a nine-match win streak and are led by sophomore Anne Houghton. Houghton was named the Army Athletic Association Athlete of the Week, on Tuesday, following a 6-0 record last week.
The Panthers are looking for their first win against Army, as the Black Knights have won the last two matches. The two last met on Feb. 14, 2008, where Army handed Pitt a 5-2 loss.
