PITTSBURGH--Looking to improve upon a four-match win streak, Pitt's women's tennis squad travels for three Big East matches this weekend, as the Panthers face Villanova, Seton Hall and Rutgers.
Pitt has won the last four matches, and seeks three conference wins this weekend. First the Panthers face the Wildcats on Friday, March 28, at 1:30 p.m. Then the squad heads to an 11 a.m. contest against the Pirates on Saturday and a 10 a.m. meeting with the Scarlet Knights on Sunday.
Junior Kristy Borza (Beaver, Pa./Beaver Area) is the all-time career wins leader with 131 victories. Earlier this season, she became just the 10th member of the 100-Victory Club and now looks to set the season record for singles wins (27) and doubles wins (21).
Recently, senior Leah Friedman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) became the 11th member of the 100-Victory Club and the third member of the current roster to achieve that feat.
Pitt won last year's contest against Villanova, 5-2, but dropped it matches against Seton Hall (4-3) and Rutgers (6-1).
