SOUTH ORANGE, N.J.--Sophomore Samantha Card hits her fifth homer of the season, as Pitt's softball team drops a 4-2 decision to Seton Hall in game two of it doubleheader, this afternoon at Ivy Hill Park. Pitt fell to 17-30 on the season and 3-10 in the Big East.

Pitt tied the game, 1-1, momentarily after Card (Miami, Fla./Our Lady of Lourdes/Florida International) blasted a solo, lead-off homer to left field in the second inning.

The Pirates, then regained the lead in the bottom half of the second with one run off one hit. However, the Panthers tied the game yet again after junior Jessica Dignon (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) led-off the inning with a double down the left side. Dignon scored off a two-out single from senior Heather Connor (Muhlenberg, Pa./Reading).

Later in the fifth, Seton Hall would score two unanswered runs off one hit and a Pitt error for the eventual win. The Pirates etched the first run of the game with an RBI single in the first inning.

In the top half of the fifth inning, senior Sheena Hellon (Sacramento, Calif./Cordova) tallied a two-out double but was left stranded.

Senior Laura Belardinelli (Endicott, N.Y./Union-Endicott) pitched five inning in the loss, giving up one earned run and two walks.
