Women's Tennis Faces Rutgers This Afternoon

PITTSBURGH--Pitt's women's tennis team faces Rutgers in its regular-season finale in Morgantown, W.Va. at noon, in a match that could determine the Panthers' post-season fate.

Pitt (10-6, 3-3 Big East) is coming off a loss against Duquesne, earlier this week. In the match sophomore Kristy Borza (Beaver, Pa./Beaver Area) recorded the single-season record for singles wins, earning her 27^th victory of the year. Borza also has 94 career wins, making her six wins shy of the 100-victory mark.

Earlier this week, Rutgers (6-11, 3-6 Big East) won a one-point decision over Connecticut in a 4-3 bout. Last season, Pitt dropped a 5-2 road match to the Scarlet Knights, where junior Carlie Smith (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) was one of two Panthers to earn wins in singles.
