Women's Tennis Posts Shutout Over Providence

PITTSBURGH--Sophomore Christie D'achille and freshman Sabrina Visram continued their unbeaten spring seasons as Pitt's women's tennis team swept Big East foe Providence, 7-0, this afternoon at Club 4 Life. The Panthers improved to 7-2 on the season and 2-1 in the Big East.

D'achille (Gibsonia, Pa./North Allegheny) and Visram (Orlando, Fla./Lake Highland Prep) were the first two singles matches to finish. D'achille shutout her opponent first in the No. 6 slot, prior to Visram's victory in the No. 4 spot.

Pitt swept doubles for the sixth time this season and remained undefeated playing at home. In the Panthers' six home matches, Pitt has only given up one point.

The Panthers host Seton Hall at Club 4 Life at noon on Sunday, March 25 in a makeup match from earlier this season.
