
SENIOR ANNIE DAVIES JOINS 100-VICTORY CLUB

PITTSBURGH- Pitt senior Annie Davies, of the women's tennis team, recently concluded her final fall season, adding her name to the short list of 100-Victory Club members. With a 10-6 singles record and an 8-4 doubles record, Davies became the eighth Panther to join this elite group. Now with 107 career wins she is on-pace to break the school record of 124 wins during the spring.
Davies (Parkersburg, W.Va./Parkersburg) achieved her 100th win in a 6-2, 6-2 decision over With a successful start to her senior season, Davies currently ranks seventh on the all-time wins list, just two wins shy of Hayley Hughes (2000-2004) who captured 109 victories during her career. Davies is just 17 wins shy of the eight-year all-time wins record set by Fran Davis (1994-1998). Davies current career totals have also moved her up in other Panther records. She ranks tied for eighth place in career singles wins (53), while the current record of 66 is held by Julie LoPrinzi (1989-1993). In doubles action, Davies has yet another opportunity to rewrite the record books and surpass The Pitt women's tennis team opens the spring slate on Friday, Feb. 2, hosting Bucknell at 1 p.m.
