Ndee helped lead the fourth-ranked volleyball team (8-0, 0-0 ACC) to a 3-0 weekend at its home tournament, the Panther Challenge, at Fitzgerald Field House. The fifth-year senior notched 3.90 kills per set while hitting .367 over the three matches, which included a 3-1 win over No. 12 BYU (Sept. 10). It was the Panthers’ fourth win over a Top 25 opponent so far this season. The right side hitter totaled 39 kills over the three matches played, including a season-best 17 kills against the Cougars on .359 hitting. She hit .500 against High Point with 12 kills to open the tournament (Sept. 10) and posted three blocks against Bowling Green (Sept. 11).
Almeida was instrumental in No. 15 Pitt’s 4-0 shutout of No. 4 North Carolina last weekend, scoring two goals in the first half for the first multi-goal game of his career. Almeida’s efforts helped propel Pitt over the Tar Heels for the first time in program history. The senior is tied for first in the ACC in total goals (4) and leads the conference in goals per game (1.000).
