Bryce Cregan is in his third season with the Pitt men’s soccer program after joining the staff in July of 2018.
In his second year on the staff as a student assistant coach, Cregan helped guide the Panthers to one of the best seasons in program history. At 10-8-2, Pitt earned its first at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament since 1965, advancing to the second round. The Panthers also advanced to the ACC Tournament semifinals for the first time ever and defeated No. 1 Virginia, 2-0, on the road on Oct. 18.
In his first season with Pitt, Cregan helped Vidovich lead the Panthers to wins over two ranked opponents in No. 12 NC State and No. 7 Virginia in the 2018 ACC Men’s Soccer Tournament. The victory over the Cavaliers marked the Panthers’ first ACC Tournament win in program history. Pitt collected its first conference win on the season against the Wolfpack and picked up another ACC victory over Clemson on Oct. 5.
Cregan joined the staff following two years as a student-athlete and team captain on the University of Pittsburgh men’s soccer squad. In his two seasons with the team, Cregan started and appeared in 32 games for the Panthers. Cregan was a key component to Pitt’s defense, as he was tabbed ACC Defender of the Week in October of 2017.
During Cregan’s tenure with the Panthers, the team earned their first ACC wins since joining the conference in 2013. Pitt also collected victories over three ranked opponents, including a win against No. 7 Notre Dame.
Prior to Pitt, Cregan spent two seasons at the University of Akron. He appeared in 19 games for the Zips and was a part of a defense that posted 15 shutouts during his two years there. The team also made a deep run in the NCAA College Cup during his sophomore season, advancing to the Final Four.
A native of Dallastown, Pa., Cregan graduated from Dallastown Area High School as a four-star recruit and the No. 2-rated prospect in the state of Pennsylvania after competing as a member of the U.S. U17 Men’s National Team and being a named a NSCAA Youth All-American.
