Pitt Men's Soccer to Face #8 Michigan State

PITTSBURGH - The Pitt men's soccer team hits the road for the second time this season Thursday, Sept. 3, to face No. 8 Michigan State in East Lansing, Mich. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. EST, with live coverage available on B1G+.

OPENING KICK

The Panthers enter Thursday's match on a two-game winning streak, having bounced back from a season-opening loss to Maryland with wins over Penn State and Bucknell.

Thursday's match marks the eighth all-time meeting between Pitt and Michigan State, with the Spartans holding a 6-1 edge in the series. The two sides met for the first time in 1958, and Pitt earned its first-ever win over MSU last season at Ambrose. Jay Vidovich is 1-0 against the Spartans in his career.

Michigan State will be Pitt's third Big Ten opponent of the season, joining Maryland and Penn State on the non-conference slate.

The Spartans have been an offensive powerhouse to open the season, tallying 16 goals through their first four matches. RIDING A TWO-GAME WINNING STREAK

Pitt earned its first road win of the season on Friday, downing in-state rival Penn State, 2-1. Caden Grabfelder opened the scoring by converting a PK against his former team, and Anders Bordoy tallied the game-winner to send the Panthers out of University Park with the win.
