FRESHMAN (2006): Rob Lawler made 18 starts in 25 appearances for the Panthers...posted a .270 batting average with 20 hits, including four doubles, one triple, one homerun and eight RBIs for a .392 slugging percentage...saw first collegiate action Feb. 25 vs. Belmont, getting first career hit...made first career starts vs. St. John[apos]s on April 8 at third base... hit first collegiate triple in a 9-5 win over Villanova...blasted first career homerun in a 10-6 win over Akron as part of the Panthers[apos] eight-run sixth inning...went 2-3 with two singles in a close 17-14 loss to Kent State...had six multi-hit games.
HIGH SCHOOL: Rob Lawler played shortstop for Greece Olympia High School in Rochester, N.Y....selected to participate on the Area Code Team in Long Beach, California, by Major League Baseball...also chosen to compete in the Perfect Game National event in Jupiter, Florida...garnered Western New York Birds Eye Foods Player of the Year honors...hit .519 as a junior for the Spartans and led the team to its first sectional title in over 20 years...Monroe County Division 2 Player of the Year...Greece Olympia[apos]s all-time leader in hits, home runs, doubles, RBIs and tied for the school record with 47 stolen bases.
