Prior to Pitt: Played at St. Joseph by the Sea High School in Staten Island, NY … Was team MVP and won a Silver Slugger as a senior … Named Most Outstanding Player by Staten Island Baseball Oldtimers and helped his team win the City Championship as a junior … Earned four wins, a save, had 28 strikeouts and a 2.33 ERA over 21 innings pitched his junior year … Also hit .320 with four home runs, five double and an on-base percentage of .490 as a junior … Was ranked the No. 11 RHP in the state of New York by Perfect Game … Played travel ball for TKR Reds in Staten Island, NY.
