Pitt Kicks Off 2026 Season With Panther Open

PITTSBURGH — The Pitt cross country programs will open the 2026 season Friday morning, hosting the Panther Opener. The meet will take place at Schenley Park, with the men racing at 8:45 a.m. and the women running at 9:10 a.m. The course is a loop located at the Schenley Park Sports Complex, shifting from the oval to the disc golf course and finishing just inside the oval on the grass surface. Admission is free to the public, with street parking available for spectators on Overlook Drive.
The Panthers face local competition, going against Robert Morris and Carnegie Mellon. The Panther Opener at Schenley Park has been the season-opening meet each of the last four seasons, with Pitt taking first place in all four.
