Pitt Adds Proven Floor General in Naithan George

PITTSBURGH — Pitt men's basketball has bolstered its backcourt with the addition of Naithan George, head coach Jeff Capel announced. A 6-foot-3, 185-pound point guard from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, George joins the Panthers after one season at Syracuse and two at Georgia Tech, bringing three years of Atlantic Coast Conference experience to Pittsburgh.

2026-27 Men's Basketball Roster
George will have one year of eligibility remaining and is set to enter his senior season in 2026-27.
In 2025-26 at Syracuse, George started all 32 games and led the Orange in both assists and minutes played, averaging 10.9 points, 5.4 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals across 32.1 minutes per contest. He recorded 10 or more assists in five games and tied his career-high with 28 points against Pitt in the regular-season finale at the JMA Wireless Dome.
Prior to his season in Syracuse, George spent two years at Georgia Tech, starting 62 of 63 games as a Yellow Jacket. As a sophomore in 2024-25, he led the ACC with 6.5 assists per game and earned honorable mention All-ACC recognition while averaging 12.3 points and 4.2 rebounds per contest. He recorded four double-doubles and surpassed 20 points on five occasions, knocking down 60 three-pointers along the way. As a freshman in 2023-24, George started 28-of-29 games, finished second in the ACC at 4.6 assists per game and contributed 9.8 points per outing.
Across his three college seasons, George has appeared in 95 games with 94 starts. He has ranked among the top 100 nationally and the top six in the ACC in assist rate each year, establishing himself as one of the conference's most prolific distributors.
George prepped at Bishop Reding Catholic Secondary School in Milton, Ontario, before playing the final three years of his high school career at Canyon International Academy in Glendale, Arizona.
